Writing Circle
Join us for a new self-guided writing circle that will be on every other Monday from 1-2:30 PM. This is a small circle that is a safe place to practice your writing skills, learn from others, and share your own work, thoughts, and dreams.

Family Storytime
Keiki and their ʻohana are invited to join Waiʻanae Public Library for a spooktacular Halloween Storytime! Families will enjoy a fun Halloween-themed storytime where we read books, sing and dance, and make crafts together. Following storytime, children will create and decorate their own spooky Monster House Treat Box, perfect for holding Halloween treats and goodies. This fun craft encourages creativity, imagination, and fine-motor skills. All craft materials will be provided.
This storytime is aimed at ages 3–5, but all ages are welcome. Registration is required and limited, so be sure to reserve your child’s spot early! All children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver.

Meeting is on the last Wednesday of every month.
Halloween U-Pick Farm to Basket
Activities for this event will include harvesting available fruits and vegetables, keiki face painting, and mini pumpkin decorating. Come dressed up in your Halloween costume, all treats, no tricks! Our U-Pick events are free and open to the public (no pre-registration required.) Donations are welcomed. Take what you need, give what you can. All are welcome.
Special Halloween event for kids
Keiki and their ʻohana are invited to join Waiʻanae Public Library for a spooktacular Trick-or-Treat celebration! Come dressed in your favorite Halloween costume and enjoy an afternoon filled with fun, creativity, treats, and dancing!
Activities include:
Halloween Costumes: Keiki are encouraged to dress up in their favorite Halloween costumes.
Trick-or-Treat & Crafts: Enjoy Halloween treats and fun craft activities at the library.
Halloween Zumba: Dance, move, and have fun at a special Halloween Zumba party for keiki in the Children’s Section!
Waianae Christmas Parade
Night parade a change from the traditional morning format. Free for spectators, registration for participating units begins in October. For the latest updates, visit the official Rotary Club of Waianae Coast website or their social media pages

Meet the Author: Malia Maunakea & free book giveaway
Everyone is invited to join Waiʻanae Public Library for a special author event featuring local author Malia Maunakea, author of Lei and the Fire Goddess and Lei and the Invisible Islands.
Malia will be sharing her newest book, Shark Prince, a story inspired by the Westside. Families will have an opportunity to meet the author, learn more about her new book, and celebrate local stories and ʻāina.
Malia would also like to give away 100 copies of Shark Prince to keiki in the community, while supplies last.
The author is available to visit Waiʻanae Public Library on Saturday, October 17, in the morning.
Kids movie matinee
Keiki and their ʻohana are invited to join Waiʻanae Public Library for our monthly Kids’ Movie Matinee! Held every 3rd Saturday in the Meeting Room, this fun family event features a kid-friendly movie on the big screen.
This month’s feature is The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, a fun-filled animated adventure from Illumination and Nintendo.

Imagine a Day Without Water Event
The Board of Water Supply, in partnership with the Office of State Representative Chris Muraoka and more than 25 city, state, nonprofit, and community organizations, invites the public to attend this year’s Imagine a Day Without Water event.

Mr. Kneel: Hip Hop for Families
Keiki and their ʻohana are invited to join Waiʻanae Public Library for an exciting afterschool experience with our favorite rapper, Mr. Kneel! Get ready for an afternoon filled with beatboxing, hip-hop, music, movement, and lots of laughs. Keiki will have the opportunity to have fun, get creative, and enjoy the energy of hip-hop in a fun and welcoming environment.

U Pick & Ohana Resource Day
Attendees can harvest available fruits and vegetables, kōkua our mahi‘ai, and connect with different organizations in our community. Keiki can also have fun at the activity station.
